Position Overview: The Part-Time Managing Director will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and day-to-day management of the company. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership, enhance operational performance, and ensure the company achieves its financial and operational goals. This role is ideal for a seasoned executive seeking a flexible work arrangement.
- Develop and execute the company’s strategic plan to achieve long-term growth and profitability.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the senior leadership team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and ensure the company meets its financial targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and in the local community.
- Ensure effective communication with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates on company performance and strategic initiatives.
- Lead efforts to enhance brand presence and market position within the industry.
- Ensure bottom-line profitability
- Guide and grow business performance in line with KPIs which align to owner’s goals
- Provide leadership and motivation to teams across the UK
- Identify new business opportunities to coincide with existing solutions and services
- Lead strategy for new business development
- Streamline business processes and systems
- Document all procedures currently known only to individual staff members
- Serve as the public face of the company
- Build company profile through networking, conferences and other engagement methods
- Staff Recruitment, interviewing, selection, onboarding & training
- Staff appraisal, disciplinary, grievance, redundancy and dismissal
- Product mix, new product awareness & selection; introduction of new products including engagement with suppliers
- Develop & co-ordinate marketing strategies
- Pricing policies
- Brochure & website content
- Perform stand-in role for sales executive during holiday & vacancy periods
- Work with owner to expand presence to additional locations in the UK
- Proven experience as a Managing Director or in a senior leadership role within similar businesses.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with a track record of driving business growth.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Financial acumen with experience in budget management and financial planning.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to make high-level decisions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the Huddersfield market and business community is a plus.
