This role is integral to driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and business growth.

Role Overview

The Finance Specialist / Chief Operating Officer will play a dual role, overseeing the company’s financial management while leading day-to-day operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the financial health of the company, optimising operational processes, and implementing strategic initiatives that align with our growth objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance and operations, with experience in the luxury goods or retail sector, particularly in jewellery.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Finance Management

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to the board and stakeholders.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control operational costs, maximizing profitability without compromising quality.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Operational Leadership

  • Operational Strategy: Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee the supply chain, from procurement to distribution, ensuring optimal inventory levels and cost management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements across operations, driving efficiency and scalability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and operations teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, and design, to ensure seamless operations and alignment with overall business objectives.
Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in finance and operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in the luxury goods, retail, or jewellery industry is highly desirable.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management.
  • Operational Expertise: Proven track record in operational management, including supply chain, process improvement, and team leadership.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically, with experience in driving growth and operational excellence in a dynamic business environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial and operational information clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
