Job Description:

Our clients are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Interim Financial Modeller to support our fast-growing, private equity-backed technology and infrastructure business. This role is offered on a 3-6 month contract, providing a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects that will shape the future strategy and financial planning of their organisation.

As an Interim Financial Modeller, you will be responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining complex financial models that inform key business decisions. You will work closely with senior leadership, including the CFO and private equity stakeholders, to deliver critical insights on financial performance, growth scenarios, and investment opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Modelling: Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed financial models to support strategic decision-making, including forecasts, scenario analysis, business case evaluations, and investment appraisals.
  • Investment & Growth Analysis: Provide financial analysis for potential investments, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives, including cash flow forecasts, ROI analysis, and valuations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze and assess financial performance, providing insights into revenue trends, cost structures, and profitability. Recommend actions to improve financial outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Collaborate with the finance team and senior management to produce accurate and timely financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for internal stakeholders and external investors.
  • Scenario Planning: Build flexible models to simulate various financial outcomes under different market and business conditions, providing actionable insights to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Due Diligence Support: Assist in financial due diligence for potential acquisitions or mergers, including providing data analysis and support in negotiations with third parties.
  • PE Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with private equity investors to understand their financial reporting requirements, ensuring clear communication of financial data and trends.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Lead or assist with ad-hoc financial modelling and analysis projects as required by the business.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in financial modelling, ideally within a private equity-backed business or similar high-growth environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with demonstrated ability to create complex, dynamic financial models.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, valuation methodologies, and investment analysis.
  • Experience working in sectors such as technology, infrastructure, or related industries.
  • Ability to interpret financial data, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent, with strong technical finance and accounting knowledge.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ideally Power BI Knowledge
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience working in a private equity-backed company.
  • Background in M&A, due diligence, or capital raising activities.
  • Familiarity with financial modelling tools and business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience within the technology or infrastructure sector will be highly regarded.
