Role Overview:
The Fractional Finance Director will play a pivotal role in guiding the financial strategy of our high-growth fintech business. This part-time, contract-based position requires a seasoned finance professional with a deep understanding of the fintech industry, particularly in high-growth environments. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Russian, possess strong analytical and strategic planning skills, and be able to manage financial risks and opportunities in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s rapid growth and expansion.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the executive team to guide decision-making.
- Create and manage detailed financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support business planning and investor relations.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements in all operating jurisdictions, with a specific focus on Russian-speaking markets.
- Coordinate audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Cash Flow & Capital Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity to meet the company's operational needs.
- Optimize capital structure and manage relationships with financial institutions and investors.
- Identify and assess potential funding opportunities, including equity, debt, and alternative financing.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including currency, credit, and operational risks.
- Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Operational Finance:
- Provide financial oversight for key business initiatives, including product launches, market expansion, and strategic partnerships.
- Work closely with department heads to optimize financial performance across the business.
- Oversee tax planning and management in Russian-speaking regions.
- Investor Relations:
- Support investor relations activities, including the preparation of financial reports and presentations.
- Assist in fundraising efforts, including the preparation of pitch materials and financial due diligence.
Key Qualifications:
- Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in Russian (both written and spoken) is essential.
- Proficiency in English is also required.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the fintech industry or a high-growth start-up.
- Proven experience in managing financial operations across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in Russian-speaking regions.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, investors, and external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in the fintech industry.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including advanced Excel modeling.
